Eligible funds at each partner bank may be automatically swept into one or more sweep network banks. How much FDIC pass-through coverage you have at each bank depends on the ownership capacity of your funds and the deposits you already hold at that bank or sweep bank. Because of system constraints, Cash App currently does not let customers exclude banks or opt out of sweep network banks. Money in transit or pending is not FDIC insured, even if Cash App gives you early access
Balances are pass-through insured only once a partner bank has received and holds them and conditions are met. Money you add from an External Bank Account is moved by a third party to Cash App's banks and is eligible only once the bank receives it. So even if Cash App gives you immediate or early access, there can be a delay between when funds are credited to your account and when the bank receives them, and during that delay they are not covered if the bank fails. Pending balances are not covered.
Supporting quotations
your Cash App Balance and your Savings Balance are eligible for FDIC pass-through insurance only when they are received and held by a Bank and if certain conditions are met.
When you deposit money into your Cash App Balance and/or Savings Balance from an External Bank Account, it is transferred by a third party to an account at our Banks.
This means that even when we provide you with immediate or early access to the funds sent to your Cash App account, there could be a delay between the time that those funds are credited to your account and when the funds are received by the Bank(s). During that delay, your funds are not eligible for FDIC pass-through insurance if the Bank holding those funds fails.
For avoidance of doubt, pending balances are not subject to FDIC pass-through insurance.

In-app bitcoin transfers are off-chain, custodied by Cash App, and auto-accepted after the first
Cash App may let you send bitcoin to other Cash App customers in the app. These transfers are "off-chain": they are not broadcast to the bitcoin network or recorded on the public ledger, and all bitcoin moved this way stays in the company's custody. Transfers only complete between Virtual Currency Accounts; if the recipient doesn't open one within the required time, the transfer is voided and the bitcoin returned. After you accept one P2P bitcoin transfer, later ones to you complete automatically into your Hosted Balance.
Supporting quotations
P2P Bitcoin Transactions are “off-chain” transactions facilitated by the Company. As such they are not broadcast to the bitcoin network and will not be reflected on the public ledger. All bitcoin transferred via P2P Bitcoin Transactions are custodied by the Company.
If the recipient fails to open a Virtual Currency Account for any reason within the required period of time, the attempted P2P Bitcoin Transaction will be voided and the bitcoin returned to your account.
Once you accept a P2P Bitcoin Transaction, any subsequent P2P Bitcoin Transaction to you will be automatically completed into your Hosted Balance.

P2P bitcoin sends are in bitcoin, not dollars; fraud losses and value drops aren’t reimbursed
Cash App may charge or change fees for P2P bitcoin transfers (shown before you confirm) and impose limits at its sole discretion. Fraudulent transactions may cost you virtual currency with no recourse. You must give accurate instructions; Cash App is not responsible for transfers made on inaccurate or incomplete instructions. You buy and sell at Cash App’s own rate, which may include a spread over market price
All buys and sells use the company's "Conversion Rate": the dollar price shown in the app after you choose Buy or Sell, at which you buy from or sell to the company. The company may add a margin or spread between the mid-market price on the dashboard and its buy or sell price, so buy and sell prices can differ. Accepting the Conversion Rate as the only conversion measure is a condition of trading, though you are never obliged to accept an offered price.
Supporting quotations
“Conversion Rate” means the price of Virtual Currency in terms of Fiat Currency as displayed in the Cash App once you have selected “Buy” or “Sell”
You acknowledge that the Company may add a margin or “spread” between the quoted mid market price displayed on the Virtual Currency dashboard and the quoted buy or sell price
You agree, as a condition of buying or selling Virtual Currency through the Cash App, to accept the Conversion Rate as the sole conversion metric. You have no obligation to accept the offered buy or sell price for Virtual Currency in the Cash App.

Bitcoin Boost turns card rewards into automatic bitcoin buys that may lose value
Cash App may offer eligible card holders a Bitcoin Boost: for eligible card purchases while a Boost is active, you receive a percentage (for example 1%) in dollars, up to a cap, which is automatically used to buy bitcoin for you. Boost Buys carry no fee, are market orders on the day at the then-effective Conversion Rate, may happen without notice and after a delay during which prices change, and depend on available bitcoin inventory. The bitcoin may be worth less than the boost amount, and such losses are not replaced. Cash App sets availability, amounts and eligibility, may cancel or modify any Boost Buy, and you can turn a Boost off in the app.

No fees will apply to Boost Buys.

Custom Orders buy or sell bitcoin when Cash App’s own rate hits your trigger price
A VC Custom Order lets you set a Trigger Price, the bitcoin amount to buy or sell, and an expiration period; it expires if the price isn't reached in time, and you see a confirmation page with fees before submitting. When you place it, Cash App pulls the funds (from your Cash App Balance for a buy, or your Hosted Balance for a sell) including fees. A buy larger than your balance authorizes Cash App to Add Money from an external account; a sell cannot exceed your Hosted Balance. The order executes only when Cash App's Conversion Rate matches the Trigger Price, as Cash App determines in its sole discretion; prices on other exchanges don't count. While pending, the reserved funds or bitcoin don't appear in your balances; if canceled or expired they are returned with fees.

USD Lightning Transfers send Cash App’s bitcoin for you; you never own bitcoin
Cash App may let you pay, from your balance or (if short) a linked payment instrument, for a service that converts dollars to bitcoin and sends it over the Lightning Network to a recipient you name. You authorize Cash App to debit the dollars plus fees, convert at the rate shown, and send Cash App's own bitcoin. You never buy, hold, control or own bitcoin in this process; Cash App keeps title until delivery, and any gain or loss from price changes before delivery belongs to Cash App. If the transfer fails, your dollars return to your balance and you get no bitcoin. Rates and fees are shown and you approve the total first. Cash App may set per-transaction, daily or weekly limits or funding-source limits, shown in the app and adjustable at any time.

“Receive as Bitcoin” automatically converts a share of incoming payments to bitcoin
If you enable P2P Bitcoin Conversions, Cash App automatically uses a percentage you choose of each incoming peer-to-peer dollar payment to buy bitcoin at the then-effective Conversion Rate; the price may move between when the payment was sent and when it converts. Cash App may set minimums or limit conversions. You can turn it off or change the percentage anytime, but a pending conversion may not be stoppable. Cash App may cancel or modify any conversion for any reason.
Supporting quotations
If you enable P2P Bitcoin Conversions, you authorize and instruct the Company to automatically debit a pre-selected percentage of incoming P2P fiat payments from your Cash App Balance to purchase bitcoin on your behalf.
The price of bitcoin may vary between the time a P2P transfer is initiated and the conversion happens.
You may disable or adjust your conversion percentage at any time, but we may be unable to stop a pending conversion once a transfer has begun.
Cash App may cancel or modify any P2P Bitcoin Conversion for any reason in its sole discretion.

Bitcoin Auto-Withdrawal sends bitcoin out on a schedule; broadcast transfers are permanent
Subject to eligibility, limits, fees (including network fees) and other outbound transfer conditions, you can enroll in Bitcoin Auto-Withdrawal, which automatically sends bitcoin from your Hosted Balance to an approved Auto-Withdrawal Address on your schedule, with the same limits, identity checks and compliance screening as other withdrawals. Local Cash can only be used on Neighborhoods Seller purchases made through Cash App or in-store with Qualifying Instruments, and is applied oldest-earned first. It isn't earned on fraudulent, disputed or returned transactions. Cash App may withhold, deduct or revoke Local Cash it believes was earned or used in error, fraudulently, illegally or against these terms. We reserve the right to withhold, deduct, or revoke Local Cash earned by you or any other user

Used Local Cash is final except seller-approved returns; your only remedy for a missed reward is the reward

Cash App Pay draws on your balance or linked debit card; tips may post as a second charge
A Cash App Pay payment authorizes Cash App to withdraw from your Cash App Balance or linked debit account as eligible and available. You can't use your balance until you have a Prepaid or Debit Flex Account; if you haven't verified your identity, payments use your linked debit card or are rejected. Some merchants accept only balance payments. A payment may be declined if one source alone lacks enough funds.
