Retention depends on purpose, account duration and other needs

DeepSeek retains data as long as necessary for services and other policy purposes, contractual or legal obligations, legitimate business interests such as improving and securing services, and legal claims. Periods vary with data amount, type, sensitivity, purposes and law. For service delivery it keeps account, input and payment data while you have an account; violation-related data may be kept as necessary to handle the violation. When no longer required, DeepSeek and its providers destroy, delete, erase or anonymize it as law permits or requires. No single fixed retention period is stated.
