No automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects

Function says it does not use personal information in automated processing or profiling of aspects such as health, finances, preferences, behavior or location to make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects. This is a limit on that type of consequential decision, not a promise of no analytics, inferences or personalization.

Inferences categories and purposes

The state table classifies inferences as inferences derived from the preceding personal-information categories. Listed purposes include service operations, insights/development, direct and interest-based marketing, promotions/contests/events, compliance/protection, corporate events, consent and aggregation/de-identification/anonymization. Health-related and genetic information remains excluded from interest-based advertising. Function separately excludes automated profiling decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects; this does not prohibit all inferences.
