Retention & Deletion · Company practice
AIs sometimes retain and use what you share; deleting messages or your account may not delete Meta’s copy
When information is shared with AIs, the AIs will sometimes retain and use it. Meta therefore tells you not to share information you do not want the AIs to use and retain, giving information about sensitive topics as the example. The Personal Information section adds a practical warning: depending on how you use AIs, deleting individual messages, entire threads or even your account may not delete Meta’s copy of your personal information, and the Privacy Center describes the correct way to delete it.
