Retention & Deletion · Company practice
Pins stay as long as the creator's account exists unless a verified removal request is made
Unless the person in a Pin asks for it to be deleted and verifies their identity (in which case Pinterest deletes it within 30 days), Pinterest keeps Pins for as long as the account of the user who created the Pin exists. In some cases Pinterest needs to keep Pins longer for other legitimate purposes, such as complying with legal obligations, enforcing and preventing violations of its Terms, fighting spam, or protecting or defending its rights, property and users. Those longer storage periods are decided case by case.
