Questions about Workspace settings and privacy practices go to the Customer, not Slack

For questions about a specific Workspace's settings and privacy practices, the policy directs you to the Customer whose Workspace you use. If you have an account, slack.com/account/team lists the Workspace owners and administrators. If you were invited to a Workspace but have not created an account, you should ask the Customer that sent the invitation.

Supporting quotations

If you have any questions about specific Workspace settings and privacy practices, please contact the Customer whose Workspace you use. If you have an account, you can check http://slack.com/account/team for the contact information of your Workspace owner(s) and administrator(s). If you have received an invitation to join a Workspace but have not yet created an account, you should request assistance from the Customer that sent the invitation.

Qualifications & exceptions

  • The account page applies only if you already have an account; invitees without an account are referred to the inviting Customer.

Service and administrative messages are part of the Services and cannot be opted out of

Slack may send you service, technical and other administrative emails, messages and other communications, and may contact you about changes in the Services, its Services offerings and important Services-related notices such as security and fraud notices. The policy treats these communications as part of the Services and says you may not opt out of them. Slack gives as the interest that Customers and Authorized Users want service-related issues addressed. This uses the same category group as the communication purpose: Workspace and account information, Third-Party Services Information, Third-Party data and Additional information provided to Slack.

Customers use administrator controls to decide which features, visibility and profile display apply to you

To follow Customers' instructions, Slack provides administrator controls for managing Workspaces. Slack follows the Customer's instructions to enable or disable Authorized Users' use of features such as Clips or Slack Huddles, channel posting permissions, the sharing and visibility of direct messages including files, and whether and how Authorized Users can connect with other organizations' Workspaces through Slack Connect. Slack also follows Customer and Authorized User instructions on how an Authorized User's profile is displayed within a Workspace or when shared through Slack Connect or other features. Customers may also let their Authorized Users adjust the audience and visibility of certain Customer Data; the Help Center describes the available choices and is not supplied.
