Strava personalizes your Services using data about you, your use and similar users

Strava says personalization is a core part of the Services and that it will personalize your Services to give you a unique experience. It does this using data relating to you, your use of the Services and information about users similar to you. Examples of information it may use are your sport type, location, who you follow and who follows you, your clubs, and your engagement with Content and other users, among other data. It may use that information to decide, for example, what to show in your feed, which routes and challenges to recommend and who to follow.
