Safety across Tinder and Match Group: fighting Terms violations and fraud, blocking repeat offenders, verifying identity
The fifth purpose group is keeping you and other members safe on the service and across Match Group: preventing, detecting and fighting violations of the Terms, fraud and other illegal or unauthorized activity; developing tools for that; preventing recurrences, notably by stopping people who violated the Terms from creating a new account; telling individuals what was done about reports they submitted or safety risks identified; verifying your identity; and securing payments and fighting financial fraud. Tinder lists several grounds: performance of the contract, its and its members' legitimate interest in safety, protection of your and other members' vital interests, ensuring security and preventing fraud in identification and authentication, compliance with legal obligations such as taking down illicit content, your consent where sensitive data is processed, and the substantial public interest in preventing illegal activity and cooperating with law enforcement. The Terms, Safety Tips and Community Guidelines are linked but not supplied.
