The Card Member may arrange for certain merchants and third parties to store the Card number and expiration date, for example so a merchant can charge the Account at regular intervals, or may make charges using stored Card information. American Express may (but is not required to) tell those merchants and third parties if the expiration date or Card number changes or if the Account status is updated, including if the Account is cancelled. A Card Member who does not want American Express to share updated Account information can contact American Express using the number on the back of the Card.
