Merchants you let store your Card number may be told about updates

You may arrange for merchants and third parties to store your Card number and expiration date, for example so a merchant can charge the Account at regular intervals. American Express may, but is not required to, tell these merchants and third parties if your expiration date or Card number changes or if your Account status is updated, including if the Account is cancelled. If you do not want American Express to share updated Account information, you should contact it using the number on the back of the Card.
