Announced January 1, 2027 change to Section 9 sign-in rules
A notice at the top says that, effective January 1, 2027, Section 9 (Login Credentials and Other Sensitive Information) is updated so Chase may require you to download and use its mobile application and to use a Trusted Device, as the agreement defines it, to verify your identity. Until you do, Chase may deny access to its Digital Platforms, the Services and your accounts, unless an accommodation is required by law. The document is marked as last updated in October 2026, and the same requirement already appears in the Section 9 text, so the notice flags the change rather than adding a separate rule.

An Account Administrator is any signer on your Business Account or Consumer Accounts or anyone else you authorize to perform the Administrator activities, and for Commercial Term Lending loans may also mean, if applicable and at Chase's sole discretion, a borrower, guarantor or key principal. An Authorized User is a person the Account Administrator designates through the Online Services to access, view and/or transact on all your accounts linked for the Online Services and to communicate with and receive communications from Chase. IP Security is an administrative procedure Chase recommends for each Authorized User in which the Account Administrator registers and maintains the Internet Protocol addresses used by Authorized Users, which Chase uses to help block access from unregistered IP addresses. Chase compares the Positive Pay Issuance Information with the Items presented. If an Item arrives with no issuance information or with information different from what you provided, Chase notifies you through Chase Online or another method on the Business Day after the discrepant Item is presented, with details of any discrepancy in account number, check number or dollar amount. You can view the discrepant Item on Chase Online and must tell Chase by the Positive Pay Service Cutoff Time that same Business Day whether you authorize it for payment (the Positive Pay Presentment Decision). That cutoff is 4:00 PM local time at the branch where the account is maintained, and the section heading states the default decision is Return. Reverse Positive Pay: ask to return a wrong Item by 4:00 PM the next Business Day, or it may be paid
If, from the Reverse Positive Pay Information, you decide an Item should not be paid, you must initiate through Chase Online or another method a request to return it by the Reverse Positive Pay Service Cutoff Time on the Business Day after presentment, giving the account number, Item serial number and dollar amount. That cutoff is 4:00 PM local time at the branch where the account is maintained. Chase may rely on any decision it reasonably believes is genuine. The section heading states the default decision is Pay, and failing to review the Information or to submit a decision by the cutoff may result in the Item being paid unless Chase agrees otherwise in writing. Another part of the Addendum states that if Chase gets no Reverse Positive Pay decision by the cutoff it may pay the Item.

ACH Debit Block allows only originators you name; you supply the correct ACH Company ID
Once you enroll an account in the ACH Debit Block Service, Chase allows only originators you designate as Authorized Originators to post ACH debits to it. You are solely responsible for giving Chase all necessary and correct information to add an Authorized Originator, namely the ACH Company ID, and Chase is not liable for any transaction it blocks or fails to block based on the information you provide; you should confirm the ACH Company ID with each originator before adding it. An Authorized Originator is an ACH Company ID you have authorized, and any originator not designated is a Blocked Originator, and Chase blocks all its attempts to post ACH debits. For example, the Internal Revenue Service and other taxing authorities are Blocked Originators unless you expressly authorize them. If you remove the service from an account, any originator can post ACH debits to it as before you enrolled.

Transaction Limits cap debits from an Authorized Originator; unset limits follow ACH operating rules
A Transaction Limit is the maximum amount of a single ACH debit that can be posted to your account, and you may set one for an individual Authorized Originator. If you set one, Chase allows that originator to post ACH debits up to the limit and blocks the full amount of any debit over the limit. If you do not set a Transaction Limit for an Authorized Originator, that originator may debit your account up to the limit established by the ACH operating rules. You may apply a Transaction Limit for each Authorized Originator per enrolled account.
