TikTok customizes the creators, content and ads you see, on and off the Platform

TikTok customizes parts of your experience to show creators and content it thinks you will be interested in, including ads and other content sponsored by or in collaboration with creators and partners. The Terms give examples of what drives this: the users you follow and engage with, your interests and activity on the Platform, popularity of videos, diversity among content, your device and account settings, and language preference. TikTok may also customize ads you see on and off the Platform, and another section says you agree it can customize ads based on, among other points, information it receives from third parties. Based on the settings offered, you may control how your information is used to inform the ads shown to you.
