Private Relay routes your web traffic through two relays but can break sites or add internet-provider charges
Private Relay, an iCloud+ feature, encrypts your internet traffic and sends it through at least two internet relays so you can browse more privately and securely. Some websites may misbehave, for example showing content for the wrong region or requiring extra sign-in steps. You can turn it on or off in iCloud Settings at any time. It may also stop your internet provider from exempting your usage from data caps, which could lead to extra charges from that provider.

Advanced Data Protection adds end-to-end encryption, but Apple cannot recover that data if you lose access
Advanced Data Protection lets you turn on end-to-end encryption for more categories of iCloud data, including iCloud Backup, Photos, Notes and iCloud Drive files. You need two-factor authentication, a trusted device with a passcode or password, and either a recovery key or at least one recovery contact. Once it is on, Apple cannot help you recover the protected data, so keeping the recovery key safe and recovery contacts current is your responsibility, and Apple takes no responsibility if you lose access because of a lost key or an unwilling or unable recovery contact. Managed Accounts and Child Accounts cannot use it. You can turn it off at any time.
Supporting quotations
With Advanced Data Protection, you can enable the use of end-to-end encryption to further protect additional categories of your data in iCloud, including your iCloud Backup, Photos, Notes, and files stored in iCloud Drive.
In addition, you will also be required to generate a recovery key or designate at least one Account recovery contact to help you regain access to your Account and data
Apple will not be able to help you recover data protected using Advanced Data Protection once it has been enabled, so it is your responsibility to keep your recovery key safe and/or your recovery contacts up to date.
Apple shall bear no responsibility for your inability to access your Account or data related to a failure to safeguard your recovery key or if your recovery contact is unable or unwilling to help you regain access to your Account and data. Managed Accounts and Child Accounts are ineligible for Advanced Data Protection. You may turn off Advanced Data Protection at any time.

Losing all security keys and trusted devices means permanent loss of your account
Security Keys lets you require a physical FIDO-certified security key to sign in, as one of your two factors; two-factor authentication must be on. You can use a trusted device to add a key or turn the feature off. If you lose all your security keys and all your trusted devices, you permanently lose access to your account and Apple cannot help you regain your account or data. Apple takes no responsibility for lost access caused by failing to safeguard keys or by keys that malfunction. Managed Apple Accounts and Child Accounts cannot use it.

Find My turns on automatically and locks your device to your account; repairs require turning it off
When you enable iCloud and Location Services on a device running iOS 13, iPadOS or macOS Catalina or later, Find My is turned on automatically for that device and paired Apple accessories (Find My iPhone on iOS 8 through 12). The device is then linked to your account, and your account password is required before anyone, including you, can turn off Find My, sign out of iCloud, or erase or activate the device. Apple and its authorized agents may refuse hardware or software support, including warranty service, unless you turn off Find My first. Apple takes no responsibility if you fail to protect your device with a passcode, enable Lost Mode or respond to notices, nor for returning your device or for data lost on it.
