A Dedicated IP is tied to your email, so activity can be traced to your account unless you choose the anonymous option
If you use the Dedicated IP service (a unique IP address assigned only to you), it encrypts your traffic and hides your real IP address, but it is tied to your email address, so certain online activities can be traced back to your account information. You can choose an anonymous Dedicated IP option after installation. That removes all information Surfshark holds in its database about your Dedicated IP address, and afterwards you must set up new devices manually and keep your own information because Surfshark will have no links about who uses the address. The anonymous option also affects refunds: Surfshark says it can no longer grant a refund for it because it cannot link you to a particular Dedicated IP.
