- WHOOP members control their personal data. WHOOP does not share any personal data with the third-party large language model provider that powers WHOOP Coach (OpenAI). With WHOOP Coach, a member can choose if and how they want to share their anonymized data. WHOOP Coach has a few data-sharing options that enable our members to control how their data is used with WHOOP Coach.

- WHOOP uses only aggregated or de-identified wellness data to better understand human performance. When we train WHOOP machine learning models, we only use aggregated or de-identified wellness data. WHOOP removes all identifying information before we use any member data for the purpose of training machine learning models. This means that a particular member’s personal data can not be associated with that member. This approach to training our machine learning models predates the launch of WHOOP Coach and has not changed.
- WHOOP believes that third parties should be prevented from invading our members’ lives by accessing their WHOOP data. As described above, only anonymized data is shared with OpenAI. We don’t ever share any personal data with this partner.
