This document is the Steam Subscriber Agreement between you and Valve Corporation of Bellevue, Washington. It explains rights and obligations as a Steam subscriber and identifies Valve by office and registration.
STEAM® SUBSCRIBER AGREEMENT

For any Steam interaction your contract is with Valve. Except as indicated at transaction time, such as marketplace deals with another subscriber, subscription transactions are made from Valve.

Each Subscription gives access to particular Content and Services. Specific Subscriptions may add Subscription Terms such as game EULAs. Payment and other Rules of Use may be posted on the site or Steam service, including Online Conduct Rules and Refund Policy. Subscription Terms, Rules and Privacy Policy bind you once you accept them or this Agreement, or otherwise become bound as described in Section 8.
Each Subscription allows you to access particular Content and Services.

For Australian Subscribers, Section 7 does not exclude, restrict or modify non-excludable guarantees, rights or remedies including under Australian Consumer Law. Under ACL goods carry acceptable-quality guarantees. On failure you get a remedy which may include repair, replacement or refund. If repair or replacement cannot be provided or there is major failure, you get a refund.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Valve, affiliates and service providers disclaim any warranty for Steam, Content, Subscriptions and any common-law duties including lack of negligence and workmanlike effort. Steam and related items are provided as is and as available with all faults and without any express or implied warranty including merchantability, fitness or non-infringement. Any UCC Section 2-312 infringement warranty or comparable state warranty is disclaimed. No warranty of title, non-interference or authority is given. The A Disclaimers heading introduces this. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Valve, licensors, affiliates and service providers are not liable for any loss or damage from Steam, Account, Subscriptions and Content use or inability to use, including goodwill, work stoppage, computer failure or other commercial losses. Valve is never liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive or exemplary or other connected damages, or delay or inability to use, even on fault, tort including negligence, strict liability, warranty breach and even if advised of possible damages. Limits apply even if a remedy fails. The B Limitation heading introduces this.
B. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Valve may unilaterally amend this Agreement including Subscription Terms or Rules at any time in its sole discretion. You will be emailed at least 30 days before the amendment effective date. You may view the Agreement at the listed site. Failure to cancel before effect accepts the amended terms. If you disagree, your only remedy is to cancel the Account or stop using affected Subscriptions. Valve need not refund pre-cancellation fees nor prorate fees. For all Subscribers outside the EU and UK, you and Valve agree the Agreement is deemed made in Washington USA, and Washington law excluding conflicts principles and the CISG governs all disputes and claims about the relationship, this Agreement, or Steam, Account or Content use. All such disputes and claims including pre-existing ones must be brought only in competent state or federal courts in King County, Washington. You both consent to exclusive jurisdiction and waive personal jurisdiction or venue objections. The Outside EU UK heading scopes this.
