Teen Privacy Policy Kids Web Services

Last updated: 10 September 2026

Introduction

Welcome to Kids Web Services (KWS). Our job is to help apps, games and other services make the internet safer for kids and teens.

This Teen Privacy Policy explains what information we collect about you when you verify your age using KWS. It also explains why we collect it, who we share it with and your choices and rights.

We wrote this in user-friendly language so it is easier to understand. If you have any questions, contact us at privacy@kidswebservices.com or speak to your parent or guardian.

You can also find more detailed information here. Back to top

What is KWS?

KWS is a service that helps companies check a person’s age so that they can access an app, game or service or use age-restricted features. We call the companies that use KWS our Partners.

Partners use our Age Verification service to verify that their users are over a certain age.

We are responsible for your information when you interact with us directly during the verification process. Partners are responsible for data collected before you come to KWS. Back to top

AgeGraph

Once you verify your age, we store your verified status (including your confirmed minimum age, e.g. 16+, 18+) with a scrambled version of your email address. This lets you use your email to access other Partner apps, games or services that use KWS without verifying again. We call this AgeGraph. It helps reduce how much personal information is collected.

We do not store the information you provide to verify your age, like your ID document or face scan, in our AgeGraph.

You can opt out of AgeGraph anytime by emailing privacy@kidswebservices.com or clicking on the opt-out link in the email we send you confirming that you have successfully verified your age. Back to top

Why we collect your information

We collect and use your information only when we have a valid reason and legal basis to do so. These include providing the services to you, maintaining the services, promoting safety and security, improving or developing new products or services, and communicating with you. Back to top

When we share your information

We do not sell your personal information to anyone. We share your information only to provide, maintain and secure KWS or if required by law. We share your information with our service providers, Partners, and other companies in the Epic Games group to help us deliver our services. For example, we share your information with:

  • Service providers to help us provide KWS, such as IT and hosting providers or the verification providers we use to verify your age. These providers process your personal information on our behalf, for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. A current list of the service providers we use can be found here.
  • Partners to deliver the services which you have requested. For example, if you verify your age through KWS, we communicate your verified status to the Partner so they can give you access to their app, game or service, or age-restricted features.
  • Other companies in the Epic Games group to the extent necessary to fulfil purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. For example, our group companies assist us in providing customer support to our Partners.

When we share your personal information in the ways described above, we may transfer it to countries outside of the UK, Switzerland and Europe (EEA). If those countries do not have the same level of protection as your home country, we use special legal agreements approved by the UK Government, Swiss Government, and the European Commission to help keep your information protected.

A note about aggregated data. Sometimes we combine information from different people so that we can no longer tell who any individual person is anymore. We may share aggregated data with our Partners to help us provide or improve our services. For example, we might work out how many people verified their age for a Partner using KWS and share that aggregated data with the Partner. Because we take out anything that could identify you, this means our Partners cannot use this aggregated data to identify you or anyone else. Back to top

How we keep your information secure

How to exercise your rights

You can send us a request at any time by emailing privacy@kidswebservices.com.

We help apps, games, and other online services check someone’s age. If you think the age check result is wrong (including the age estimated from a face scan), please contact the app, game or online service you were using. They make the final decision about your account and what happens next.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, or you think we have not complied with your rights, please tell us by emailing privacy@kidswebservices.com. You also have the right to submit a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner (https://ico.org.uk/) or your local supervisory authority for data protection.

If you live in Australia or the US, you can find more information on how to submit a complaint here. Back to top
