On a warranty failure the app store refunds the price and Roku carries the other warranty claims
If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, the notice gives three consequences: you may notify the app store and it will refund the purchase price for the app to you (if applicable); to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law the app store has no other warranty obligation at all; and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to the failure to conform to a warranty are the company's responsibility.

Supporting quotations
in the event of any failure of the app to conform to any applicable warranty, (1) you may notify the app store and the app store will refund the purchase price for the app to you (if applicable), (2) to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the app store will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the app, and (3) any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty will be our responsibility
Qualifications & exceptions
- The refund is of the purchase price for the app and applies only 'if applicable'; the notice does not say when a purchase qualifies.
- The app store's lack of any further warranty obligation is limited 'to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law'.
Not stated here
- The notice does not define what an 'applicable warranty' is or where it comes from.
Cross-references
- contrast (model-proposed): The app store does not address claims about the app, including product-liability and consumer-protection claims — The warranty point has the app store refund the purchase price when the app fails to conform to a warranty, while the claims point says the app store is not responsible for addressing claims about the app, including consumer-protection claims. Read together they describe different things: a single refund route for warranty non-conformance, and no duty to handle claims for other failures, with the remaining warranty liability placed on the company.
